GOYA pieces are made from solid Rosewood, with walnut and oak veneer and marquetry laid on an engineered wood ground. A little care will keep them beautiful for years.
- Placement. Keep your piece out of direct sunlight and away from heaters, air-conditioning vents and damp walls. Strong sun and sudden changes in temperature or humidity can fade the finish and cause wood to move.
- Dusting. Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, following the direction of the grain.
- Spills. Blot spills straight away with a dry cloth. Never leave water standing on the surface, especially near veneer edges and marquetry joints.
- Cleaning. Use only a cloth very lightly dampened with water, then dry immediately. Avoid household sprays, polishes containing silicone, and abrasive cleaners.
- Everyday use. Use coasters under glasses and mats under hot dishes or vases. Lift your piece to move it rather than dragging it.
- Stone tops. Marble and onyx are natural and porous. Wipe up acidic spills such as lemon, vinegar or wine at once, and clean only with a soft cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap.
- Upholstery. Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment, and plump and turn loose cushions regularly so they wear evenly. Blot spills with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing. Keep upholstered pieces out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, and use a professional upholstery cleaner for stains.
Room conditions
Wood is a living material and responds to its surroundings. For best results, keep your piece in a room between 18–27°C with relative humidity of 40–60%. We cannot be responsible for movement, warping or cracking caused by conditions outside this range.
