The Hands Behind the Pieces

The Master

Muhamad Nadeem

Nadeem has been coming to this workshop since he was eight or nine years old. He watched his father work. When the time came, his father set him to work on a chair. That’s where it began.

He’s in his early thirties now. He has spent more than half his life here, in the same space, working the same materials. His brother works beside him. What he knows lives in his hands. It took twenty years to put it there.

Every piece Goya makes carries a name. Not as a label — as an acknowledgement. These are the people whose knowledge, passed down through generations, makes what we do possible. We are here because they are here.

Peshawar

Goya found Nadeem the way you find things that were always there. His workshop is not easy to reach. It does not advertise itself. It exists because the work continues, because it has always continued.

Nadeem is the first of many makers whose story Goya will tell. Each one brings a different craft, a different tradition, a different pair of hands. What they share is the same quiet seriousness about their work — and the belief that what they make deserves to last.
